What is conservation?
Conservation refers to a logical thinking ability that allows a person to determine that a certain quantity will remain the same despite adjustment of the container, shape, or apparent size, according to the psychologist Jean Piaget.
Do you have an example?
Remember the preoperational stage in Piagets stages and the slides we did in AP psych?
yeah what about them?
imagine you have three different size glasses but the same volume. One could be really short and wide and another really tall in skinny, etc…but they all have the same volume and the same amount of liquid inside. If someone failed to understand conversation, they might say the tall drink has the most liquid because they cannot understand that the short drink could hold the same amount of liquid as the tall glass.
