Control v. experimental

What is the difference between experimental and control group?

There are usually 2 groups in an experiment. One gets the experimental treatment and this is called the experimental group, and the other doesn’t and gets the standard treatment, this is called the control group. These are done to compare to see if the experimental treatment actually causes an effect.
