why does drilling for oil happen in places like tundras as oppose to warmer climates?
Drilling for oil happens where there are large oil reserves. The tundras (cold climates) have not seen much drilling until recently because of the climate. The temperature is difficult to work in compared to warm climates. The warmer climate areas have seen oil drilling since the beginning. They are starting to run dry, so oil companies are looking for more reserves; enter the tundra.
