1450-1750 – it’s the rise of the economic power of the Europeans, due to their exploration & subsequent exploitation of other lands.
Spanish Empire grew in the early part of this time period due to the amount of silver mined from Spanish America (and then shipped either back to Spain, or mostly to China who had changed their tax system to require payment of taxes in silver)
Portuguese, British, French --grew the Caribbean holdings’ economic base through cultivation of sugar (often called “white gold” for how expensive it was)
