Evolution & fitness

how does mitochondria/photosynthesis evolve over time? what should I know that’s not from unit 7 but still covers evolution?

It’s not necessarily that the mitochondria is constantly evolving, but more so the leading theory that the mitochondria used to be its own prokaryotic cell before it became an organelle of a eukaryotic cell. Other than that, understanding the concept of advantageous traits may be helpful with the heredity unit, but that’s all you’ll have to know!
