A. The grain crop represented in photos Y and Z is rice.
B. Subsistence agriculture focuses more on producing food for oneself and one’s family. Also, the crops being grown this way are mainly for consumption rather than to make a profit, resulting in a low crop production. Consequently, subsistence farming does not provide as much income as commercial agriculture. Yet, this form of agriculture does not require expensive technology and extra trade expenses, and instead use people and animals, such as donkeys, to tend the land. Commercial agriculture, however, is specifically targeted towards farmers that want to earn a living off of their crops and livestock. Therefore, more crops will be grown in bulk and less people are required to maintain the land since high-quality machines are in use. But, these machines cost the farmers more than sometimes hiring people like what occurs in subsistence farming.
C. Flooding is an environmental impact that can result from the type of agriculture shown in photo Y.
D. An environmental impact from the type of agriculture in photo Z is pollution.

A. Photo y is rice and photo z is wheat.

B. Subsistence agriculture uses low levels of technology, while commercial agricultue uses high levels of technology. Subsistence agriculture is popular within less developed countries while commercial agriculture is popular in more developed countries.

C. One environmental impact resulting from the type of agriculture in photo y is making the soil poor and infertile.

D. One environmental impact resulting from the type of agriculture in photo Z is the realizing of harmful pesticides and fumes into the soil and air.

A. In photo Y, the grain crop shown is wet rice, and in photo Z, it is wheat.

B.The main economic difference between subsistence and commercial agriculture is; as indicated by its name, commercial agriculture is made to be mass produced and sold for the consumption of many. On the other hand subsistence agriculture is only used to sustain the farmer and the farmers family, rather than many people. Another difference is the amount of land that is used. On average the subsistence farmers have gardens in land that is about 2.5 acres large while commercial farms are on the larger side with over 400 acres.

C. From photo Y, we can see what we can assume to be subsistence agriculture. One environmental impact as a result of subsistence farming specific to this picture is drowning soil of natural nutrients.

D. In photo Z, we can assume that we are seeing commercial farming. Since commercial farmers tend to rely entirely on machines, the environmental impact is air pollution.

A. The grain crop shown in photo Y is rice and in photo Z it is wheat.
B. Two economic differences between subsistence agriculture and commercial agriculture are that in subsistence agriculture, you only focus on feeding yourself and your family rather than making a profit. However, in commercial agriculture, the sole purpose is for profit and economical gain. People who practice subsistence agriculture are usually from less developed countries, and they do not have many technological advancements to help in their farming. But in commercial, you have modern technology and machinery to maximize growth to earn profit.
C. One impact from photo Y is that there can be a soil nutrient depletion.
D. One impact from photo Z is that pollution from the pesticides and fertilizers put into the crops.

A. The grain crop in photo Y is rice. The grain crop in photo Z is wheat.
B. One economic difference between subsistence agriculture and commercial agriculture is that commercial has much larger yields with lower labor than subsistence agriculture. Subsistence agriculture is typically intensive. As seen in photo Y, it requires a lot of human labor and it doesn’t produce a lot of product. In contrast, commercial agriculture is mechanized so very little human labor is needed and machines do most of the work. This can be seen in photo Z. Another economic difference is the economic purpose of agriculture. In photo Y, farmers are farming to sustain their families. They sell very little to none of the product they produce. In photo Z, commercial agriculture is done to feed a large population of people. All of the wheat is sold to be produced into food products.
C. One environmental impact resulting from agriculture in photo y is destruction of natural wetlands. Growing rice requires flooding a field. This water could come from natural wetlands. Destruction of the natural wetlands can lead to landslides and desertification. Furthermore, destructing natural habitats can lead to the endangerment of local species.
D. One environmental impact resulting from commercial agriculture shown in photo Z is pollution. The large machines that are used produce a lot of air pollution. Furthermore, crops are processed and transported. Some of this wheat may be sent to Asia and back before it is consumed. This large use of transportation leads to air pollution and climate change.

Okay I have tried to repost this several times and I am a Cram Pass Supporter. I know it still says I’m a guest, and I have had this happen to be in the past. I am logged in so I don’t know what is going on!

A. The grain sown in pictures Y is Rice and Z is wheat.
B. One of the economic difference between subsistence agriculture is making food for ones own self and family, so people will not worry about have a vast majority of foods to make and sell when they are only making the food for their selves and their family. They as well do not have to worry about have high tech machines to help with the picking and farming of their crops. While commercial agriculture is farming for a fast majority of people. They make and sell a lot of products not for ones self to eat. They as well use high tech gadgets to quickly pick and plot the goods so that they could quickly sell the products. As well has there i a pay and income difference between the two because Commercial does it to get paid and get a big income while subsistence does it to take care of ones own self.
C. One environmental impact shown in Photo Y would be over-flooding which could lead to depletion in soil and land
D. An environmental impact shown in Photo Z is over use of soil and dried up soild that have lack in nutrients needed in the soil

A. In photo Y, the grain crop shown is wet rice. The production of this crop is intensive and is produced in high amounts in East Asia and Southeast Asia. In photo Z grain crop shown is wheat.

B. One economic difference between subsistence and commercial agriculture is what the farmer does with the yield. Subsistence agriculture is practice in order to sustain the needs of the farmer that is practicing it and his/her family. In this form of agriculture, the farmer does not profit from the crops. On the other hand, commercial agriculture is produced with the intention of selling crops for a given commodity value so that the farmer may by other things such as clothes, food, and desirable goods with the money he/she makes with the profit. Another economic difference between subsistence and commercial agriculture is cost to produce the crops and input of labor. After the Second Agricultural Revolution and Green Revolution commercial agriculture became largely dependent on mechanization, pesticides, and irrigation systems. Without these expensive luxuries, the extensiveness of agriculture that is seen in photo Z would not be possible. This makes commercial agriculture considerably expensive and less labor dependent, and for this reason commercial agriculture is more common in more developed countries such as the U.S. and Canada. Since subsistence agriculture is more labor dependent and less mechanized, it is cheaper to practice making it more common in less developed countries with more agrarian based societies.

C. One environmental impact from the type of agriculture in Photo Y is the pollution of the water. Since the rice is being grown in water, the water will take quite a bit of environmental damage from pesticides and chemicals that could be used in the rice. Whatever chemicals that are sprayed on the plants will contaminate the water as well.

D. One environmental impact that is a result of the type of agriculture shown in photo Z is the pollution of the air due to the high level of mechanization of agriculture in the picture. In the picture shown, the farmers are utilizing large industrial machines that operate on fossil fuels and release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

A. Photo Y is rice and photo Z is wheat.
B. Subsistence agriculture focuses primarily on the production of food for the farmers family, while commercial agriculture focuses on the production of food to be sold off the farm in markets. Commercial farming mass produces and they sell a lot on the market so that regular people can buy food. Subsistence agriculture produces smaller amounts of crops and does not make as much money as commercial farming.
C. One environmental impact that results from the type of agriculture in photo Y is the depletion of nutrients in the soil when they flood the fields.
D. An environmental impact resulting from the type of agriculture in Photo Z is pollution, due to the fact that in commercial agriculture, farmers use a lot of machinery, releasing emissions into the air.

A. In Photo Y, the grain crop shown is rice. In Photo Z, the grain crop shown is wheat.

B. One economic difference between subsistence agriculture and commercial agriculture is that subsistence agriculture is meant to feed the farmer’s family while commercial agriculture is meant for sale at a market. This means that people participating in subsistence agriculture don’t gain money while commercial agriculture’s goal is to gain money.

Another economic difference is that subsistence agriculture tends to use less mechanized equipment, technology, or expensive high-yield seeds and so requires less capital to start doing. Meanwhile, commercial agriculture tends to use mechanized equipment, technology, and high-yield seeds and require large amounts of capital, usually from a bank, to start.

C. One environmental impact resulting from the type of agriculture in photo Y is that it may result in flooding. As wet rice farmers flood their fields in order to grow rice, this may result in flooding in the nearby environment.

D. One environmental impact resulting from the type of agriculture in photo Z is that it may result in monocultures where only one crop is grown year after year which results in depletion of soil nutrients and decreases future crop yields.
