Gel Electrophoresis

Please explain how gel electrophoresis works/how we would need to utilize it on the exam.

Gel Electrophoresis is pretty much a way to measure how long each DNA fragment is. The longer that the fragment migrates, the smaller the fragment size. The shorter that the fragment migrates, the bigger the size (because too heavy to move). It is kinda hard to explain it in a paragraph, but there is a video on YT that explains it very well. Skip to 5:12 and you should see it.

Thank you!
