Gestalt

What are the gestalt theories, like continuation, and monocular/binocular cues.

The gestalt principles are different ways our brain sees patterns and groups information. This info graphic is helpful for the basic ones you need to know.

One of my favorite applications of closure is what happens in proofreading. Always read your essays out loud to yourself after you’ve written them, if the situation allows. You’ll catch your errors much more frequently. If you don’t do this, your brain will “close” the Gestalt and you’ll read as if they error isn’t there.
Law of Closure.

So for the AP test in terms of application of the Gestalt principles (proximity, continuity, and closure), we would be asked to possibly identify which of these principles are occurring through a scenario or perhaps we identify by looking at a provided illustration?
