Gilded Age and Industrial Capitalism

Can we go over the politics and the cultural changes that occurred during this time? Thanks!

Hi @angelayuan1210,
Mr. Pulgarin will be going over Period 6 in the stream, but here’s a short list:
-laissez-faire economics as a govt. policy at first
-later, T. Roosevelt goes “trust busting” [taking out monopolies]
-ideas of progressivism and reform become more popular in the early 19th century
-influx of immigrants, many of them working in factories. not many people like the idea of immigrants becoming part of the American identity
-increased social stratification between rich and poor due to corporate superiority.

hope this helps
