Haitian revolution

How did the haitian revolution begin?

The Haitian Revolution started as a series of slave revolts against the French in Haiti, who were a minority, but controlled the majority of the African population through slavery on sugar plantations. Toussaint Lā€™Ouverture was the leader of this revolution, which was the first successful slave rebellion in North America.

The Haitian Revolution began as a result of dissatisfaction with French Imperialism and Napoleon. The Haitian people ended up gaining their independence.
