How much do I need to write about the Historical Context?

I don’t want to waste time going into Historical context more than I need to, but I definitely want to make sure I have well written historical context in my essay. How much should I write for Historical Context?

I would say “as much as you need.” Practically, this is probably about a sentence or two that connects the document to broader historical events that you can then tie back to your thesis.
