I’m kind of confused on how to conclude independence as a condition. What do we do if the number of experimental units in a population isn’t stated? Do we just assume independence in that case?
If you are sampling with replacement you can assume independence (But that is not common).
You have to make sure all samples are independently selected if you have multiple samples.
There is also a 10% independence condition that you have to check when random sampling without replacement.
