Which states in Africa/South America industrialized? Also, what happened to the states in the Middle East, South/South East Asia, and Russia during the period? Thank you!
So by the year 1900 the states outside of the United States or Europe, with the exception of Japan had fully or even semi-industrialized. Egypt under Mehmet Ali had tried to industrialize, but government mismanagement by his successor of loans had ended that. The nations in South America such as Mexico and brazil had some small industrial capacity, but this was to produce exporting Goods not to manufacture goods for their own Market.
