i have heard limestone, acid rain, and carbon mentioned together multiple times but I am still confused about how they relate to each other?
hey again @bella_isaacson !!
so to answer your question, limestone is a very basic (meaning high pH) substance. Acid rain is a very acidic (meaning low pH) substance. One can be used to balance the pH of another and that is how they are mentioned in the practice FRQs !! From what I know, carbon itself doesn’t relate to those concepts BUT Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) is another name for limestone.
