Mapping distance for chromosomes

How do you map the distance for chromosomes?

If they ask you to do this, they will give you the percentages or number of base pairs each section of the chromosome has. Then, it’s just a matter of trial and error, for me at least.

Example of a finished gene map if they gave you

  1. BD is 40%
  2. BC is 45%
  3. AD is 25%
  4. AC is 30%

This is a Bozeman Science video about gene mapping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU44tR0hJ8A

Hope this helps
