Ozone and smog

What is ozone? What causes it and what is its effects? What type of weather/environment increases the amount of smog, and what impact does the smog have?

Ozone is a compound cause by volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) by a NO2 nitrogen dioxide molecule broken down in direct sunlight into NO+ O with one oxygen (O) molecule split and it forms with another molecule (O2) that is diatomic and they bond together to form (O3) Ozone.

So in direct sunlight with the presence of VOC’s they react with (NO) nitrogen oxide to form Photochemical oxidants that react with O3 ozone to form photochemical smog.

Hot, sunny weather increases smog and it causes reduced vision, respiratory illness and acts as an eye irritant.
