Absolutely! Then if you get a chance, revise your thesis to match what you incorporated in your essay.
The key is not exactly how many devices you use but whether you effectively connect each choice (not device but anything the speaker does) to the speaker’s purpose. In order to score high on row B (evidence/commentary), connect everything you discuss to the speaker’s purpose. Then you can go back and revise your thesis if needed.
