Question about Describing distributions

When you describe the centers of distributions, do you use mean or median?

If it is a normal distribution use mean.

For any other use median since it is resistant to skew.

I personally recommend using median since you can never go wrong with it.

If there are no outliers or relatively little skew, we use the mean if it can be easily found, but else, we use the median as the calculation is easier and also it isn’t affected by skew or outliers. When in doubt, use the median.

while describing a distributions such as a histogram if calculating the mean or median takes more time can we use mode instead?

NEVER USE MODE. Unless describing a distribution that is bimodal. Statistically speaking median and mean are better indicators of the distribution than mode.
