S in a computer output represents the standard deviation of the residuals. You would often say "The standard deviation of the residuals is approximately __, where the residuals are the difference between the observed (context/y) and predicted (context/y hat)
It is the standard deviation of residuals. It is the average distance from the LSRL to the actual data points.
