What are the Samurai? I know they are Japanese but that’s it.

Basically a warrior class of individuals loyal to the Daimyo and the Shogun that are used to enforce/protect their interests.
The samurai were a warrior class oh, much like knights in Europe, who served Lords known as Daimyo. They did not have an income they were given land and had special privileges over non Samurai
There were several Samurai revolts. The last and perhaps most famous one was during the Meiji restoration. The samurai wanted to protect their hereditary privileges from being removed by the government
