Test Statistic

What is the formula for interpreting a Test Statistic?

You calculate the p-value based on the test statistic.

test statistic = (sample statistic - hypothesized parameter)/ Standard Error

How do I INTERPRET the test statistic? I was unclear, I meant interpret in a sentence format not calculating… my bad!

You usually want to get a P-value from it. You won’t be asked to interpret a test statistic but just call it a t-score or a z-score. Technically the test statistic is
a calculated difference represented in units of standard error.

It tells you how many SE’s away you are!!
