Tilling and erosion

I know that tilling causes an increase in erosion, but what effect does that have on the ecosystem? What is an alternative to tilling?

Also, what are the effects of fracking?

Hey @Grace_B
The impact of tilling on the environment is mainly increased runoff. This can result in eutrophication if fertilizer is involved and increased sediment in nearby streams. An alternative to tilling is using a seed drill which creates small holes for each seed.
As for fracking, the main effects are oil spills and groundwater contamination.
