What is the difference between contextualization and outside evidence?

Contextualization is setting up your essay by telling what happened BEFORE whatever your topic is. Think of this like the scrolling before a Star Wars movie or when you watch a TV show and they say, “Previously on [name of show].”

Outside evidence is when you give information about a topic that is NOT found in the documents, but it supports your thesis or argument.
