For the context point, should I have just a few sentences in the first paragraph before my thesis, or should I have a separate paragraph after the thesis statement. Also, how many sentences do you recommend?
I recommend doing it in the same paragraph as the thesis statement, and I’ve heard a range of 3-5 sentences is a good amount for context!

I usually put my context in the first paragraph before my thesis, but I know plenty of people that put it in the first paragraph after their thesis. I would recommend contextualization be anywhere from 3-4 (but really, as much as you need to fully explain the topic), and your thesis be either 1 or 2.
