Wind energy is most effective in areas that are large, flat, and receive lots of wind on a reliable basis. Solar energy works best in large, flat areas that receive a lot of sun, as you donāt want to place solar panels somewhere where trees or buildings will shadow them. I would say one of the best biomes for solar energy would be a desert, as long as they are being regularly cleaned (dust/sand buildup decreases efficiency).

Yes, although they can sometimes mess with bird populations and their migration/nesting patterns in those areas.
